What training is required before MEDITECH goLIVE, October 1, 2015?

A.

Physicians and Advanced Practitioners MUST complete ALL of the following:

  • Online Training [2.5 hours]
  • In-Person Training [2 - 3 hours - dependent on successful Online Training]
  • Proctored Practice Session completing 2+ scenarios and assessment [2 hours]

Dragon Voice Recognition Training will be provided starting September 15, but not required unless you will be utilizing it.

Training MUST be completed no later than September 15, 2015.

Are there any special requirements for physicians and advanced practitioners to use MEDITECH?

A.

YES.   Before a login is granted to the LIVE application with real patients, Physicians and Advanced Practitioners MUST complete ALL of the following:

  • Online Training [2.5 hours]
  • In-Person Training [2 - 3 hours - dependent on successful Online Training]
  • Proctored Practice Session completing 2+ scenarios and assessment [2 hours]

How will Physician be impacted?

A.

Changing Electronic Medical Records is challenging and time-consuming process.  For physicians across the Health System learning to do things a "new" way will be the largest impact.  This will include:

  • Changing your daily routine to reduce frustration with depending on the EMR AND to maximize the use of your time.
  • Learning where to find patient information in MEDITECH.
  • Learning how to order medications, radiology, lab, etc in MEDITECH.
  • Learning how to complete medication reconciliation in MEDITECH.
  • Learning how to document progress notes and discharge summaries in MEDITECH.

Paper Progress Notes, Discharge Summaries, Medication Reconciliation, and Orders will NOT be accepted on paper as of October 1, 2015.

Dictated or Paper OR notes, History and Physicals, and Consultation Reports will not be NOT be accepted as of April 1, 2016.

What is ProjectONE?

A.

ProjectONE is a Health System initiative to standardize processes, data, and applications across the Health System.   The goal is to provide a single experience to our patients, providers, and team members.

As part of the initiative, MEDITECH applications were chosen as the Health System Standard.   This will allow the Organization to share information and standardize data for all facilities.

Paper Progress Notes, Discharge Summaries, Medication Reconciliation, and Orders will NOT be accepted on paper as of October 1, 2015.

Dictated or Paper OR notes, History and Physicals, and Consultation Reports will not be NOT be accepted as of April 1, 2016.
